Sankt Vith is one of two cities proper in the German-speaking region of Belgium, the other being the capital, Eupen. The city was completely destroyed during the Second World War but has been beautifully redeveloped in the past few decades. The Belgian Eifel region is popular with hikers and mountain bikers, and, in the winter months, with cross-country skiers, which makes it a great place for a winter holiday. Or use the hostel as a base for visiting the neighbouring countries of Germany and Luxembourg.
