Fairytale hostel on the edge of a forest
Once upon a time, there was a quaint hostel on the edge of a forest where an old forest ranger used to live. A place where children now play, gnomes live and dolls can talk. When the forest ranger moved out, Elly took over and has put her heart and soul into this hostel for the past 20 years. The forest and large playground provide a perfect spot for school and sport camps. Also families with children, cyclists and hikers will love to relax in this wonderful place.
Countryside fit for a prince
Westerlo is the ideal destination for a weekend getaway or an overnight stay full of outdoor fun. This municipality in the Antwerp Kempen region is surrounded by a green belt of nature reserves, abbeys and castles. Since the 15th century, it has also been home to the noble de Merode family. The “Castle of Westerlo,” which they still inhabit, is open for guided tours, subject to timely reservations.
