Our accommodation in Bokrijk is a children’s paradise in the forest
The De Roerdomp Hostel is situated in the middle of a forest and is surrounded by a petting zoo, a playground, and a sport field. This cute hostel in Belgium is the perfect place to relax in the heart of nature. After a pleasant walk through the forest, you will arrive at the Bokrijk domain and be transported back in time. The hostel is the ideal accommodation for nature lovers and groups. But be warned, your children won’t ever want to go home!
The ideal backdrop for nature lovers
In Bokrijk, you will see history come to life before your very eyes in the open-air museum. Did you know that here you can cycle through the water without getting wet? The accommodation is near the only national park in Flanders, the Hoge Kempen National Park. The numerous cycling and hiking routes will take you through the most beautiful spots in this unique nature reserve. Or hop into a different kind of saddle as Limburg is the number one horse-riding region in Belgium!
50 years and many more to come
Youth hostel De Roerdomp turned 50 in 2020. This makes this accommodation in Bokrijk one of the oldest hostels in our network. You go 'back to basics' and enjoy a real youth hostel experience. How? You'll share a bathroom with other travellers and there are also a few or even no sockets in the rooms. Don't panic, you can of course charge in the common areas and, if you want, also socialise. In addition, the adjoining petting zoo makes it a unique accommodation in Bokrijk.
