Julifoor Veurne 2025: experience the charm of the 'Kerremesse' and the Penitents’ Procession

At the end of July, the town of Veurne turns into a festive fairground! The Julifoor, also known as the Veurn' Kerremesse, is a beloved summer folk festival filled with nostalgia, modern rides, and classic treats. Young and old can enjoy the attractions and indulge in traditional snacks like fries and cotton candy. The place to be is the city centre of Veurne: the Grote Markt, Appelmarkt and Sint-Denisplaats, from Friday 25 to Wednesday 30 July. The fair opens daily between 3:00 and 4:00 PM.
On Sunday 27 July, don’t miss the traditional Penitents’ Procession. Hundreds of people dressed in historical costumes parade through the streets, reenacting biblical scenes with the Passion of Christ as the central theme. It’s a remarkable event with both religious and cultural significance.
